I think the Nerf toys need to top every Christmas gift idea list. When it comes to knowing what boys want, Nerf has a corner on the market. (and they built a fort on it)
I was just reviewing the Nerf Vortex Vigilon. I have to say, I love the Vortex XLD discs. They fly soo far, they have a decent degree of accuracy to them, and they freak out the competition.
Seriously. There’s something about having that spinning green disc coming at ya’ that is just terrifying.
The Vortex Nitron is the full-sized big brother of the Vigilon. I have to say that I am pretty impressed. First of all, its long stock gives you a high degree of control. Plus, the short barrel still leaves the gun compact enough to handle high-action chase scenes.
The Nitron has a long clip (20 discs!!) that you can preload (and carry back ups!) to allow for fast reloading during matches.
Nerf Vortex Nitron Will Send The Enemy Scurrying For Cover
The battery-powered shooting action is a tad noisy, but I think the fast-shooting action is worth the tradeoff. It also has an acceleration trigger to help you power up for longer distanced attacks.
Some people actually feel that the pump-action Praxis is better since it is quieter and has a longer range. But let’s face it, none of these guns are that accurate over a certain distance. Give me the gun that will let me throw a hailing of green discs at my terrified opponent.
The full-auto action of the Nerf Nitron does just that.
Being the largest of the Nerf Vortex line, the Nitron comes with all of the bells and whistles. I mean, this even has a scope to help with your long-range accuracy. The tactical rail system lets you upgrade it with additional accessories to suit your playing style.
The Nerf Nitron is going to be about twice the price as the baby of the family, the Vigilon. However, for Nerf fans, its worth the extra.
